Community Activator-Job Posting

Quad County Support Services is a small agency that provides supports and services to adults who have a developmental disability in West Elgin, Southwest Middlesex, and the eastern borders of Lambton and Kent counties.

Over the past few years, our support model has evolved to focus on being inclusive, providing person-directed supports while working closely with our families. We are also committed to promoting wellness for individuals and our employees. 

We now have a new and exciting full time position – a Community Activator. 

Is this a position that you feel you would be suited for? 

You will need to be passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities live their best lives. You enjoy working within a collaborative and supportive team to facilitate a process that supports people achieve their personal goals, facilitate relationships and develop roles which promote their meaningful participation in a typical and valued life in community.

This role is key in helping create person-directed plans for individuals we support so they are engaged in activities and have the community connections that are in-line with their interests. The Community Activator will take the time to get to know each individual and make the necessary connections in the communities we serve. 

You also do not mind doing a bit of creative accounting and will assist individuals to maximize their Passport funding and be responsible to submit all invoices to the finance department for processing.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in assisting individuals to develop person-directed life plans that empower them to live their best lives.

Requirements:

• Willingness to have a flexible schedule to meet individuals and families where they are.

• Reliable vehicle and valid Ontario driver’s license “G”

• Vulnerable Sector Screening Check

• First Aid/CPR

• CPI certification

• Basic computer skills and experienced in MS Office applications

• Basic accounting skills
